I've been 12-16% body fat my whole life and have never experienced any adverse effects.

I also never suggested restrictive eating. It's an ineffective way to lose weight anyway, and advocate against it.

Lifestyle changes are more important than restricting calories. It's about having a healthy life, which is what I am outlining with this article.
